Method

Preparing the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until well combined but do not overmix to keep the patties tender.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes. If using cheese, add a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 5

    Add BBQ Sauce

Once the patties are cooked, remove them from the grill and place on a plate. Generously drizzle BBQ sauce over each patty.

  2. 6

    Top with Onion Rings

Add a handful of onion rings on top of the BBQ-sauced patties.

  3. 7

    Assemble the Burger

Place the BBQ burger patty on the bottom half of the burger bun. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
