Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Tempeh
Slice the Smiling Hara Tempeh into strips, about 1 inch wide.
- 2
Make the Breading
In a large bowl, mix together the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
- 3
Dip and Coat
Dip each tempeh strip into the water, then coat it in the breading mixture, ensuring it's evenly covered.
- 4
Fry the Wings
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Once hot, fry the breaded tempeh strips in batches for about 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 5
Toss in Sauce
In a large bowl, combine the fried tempeh strips with your hot sauce of choice and toss until well coated.
- 6
Serve
Serve the Tempalo Wings with organic carrot and celery sticks on the side. Enjoy with house-made vegan ranch for dipping.
