Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Burn the Honey

In a small saucepan over low heat, gently warm the honey until it becomes liquid and starts to bubble slightly. Allow it to cook for about 2-3 minutes until it darkens in color and develops a rich, burnt aroma. Be careful not to let it burn too much.

  2. 2

    Mix the Cocktail

In a mixing glass, combine the burnt honey and Pinhook bourbon. Add 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

  3. 3

    Stir and Chill

Fill the mixing glass with ice cubes and stir the mixture for about 30 seconds until well chilled.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Glass

Strain the mixture into an Old Fashioned glass filled with a large ice cube.

  5. 5

    Garnish

Express the oils from the orange peel over the drink by holding it over the glass and giving it a gentle twist, then drop it into the glass as garnish.
