Shrimp Skewers

Deep Frying (if applicable)

Method

Preparation of Shrimp

  1. 1

    Marinate the Shrimp

In a mixing bowl, combine olive oil, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and chopped parsley. Add the shrimp and toss to coat evenly. Let marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  2. 2

    Prepare Skewers

If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning. If using metal skewers, ensure they are clean and ready for use.

Cooking Methods

  1. 3

    Grilling the Shrimp Skewers

Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread 6 shrimp onto each skewer. Grill for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until shrimp are opaque and cooked through.

  2. 4

    Cajun Shrimp Skewers

If you prefer cajun flavor, mix in cajun seasoning with the marinade before marinating shrimp. Follow the same grilling instructions.

  3. 5

    Deep Frying (optional)

In a bowl, mix flour and cornstarch. In another bowl, beat the egg and add water. Dip each shrimp in the egg mixture, then in the flour mixture. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the shrimp skewers in batches for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.
