Method
Prepare the Base
- 1
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). If using frozen tater barrels or fries, spread them evenly on a baking sheet.
- 2
Bake the tater barrels or fries in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are golden and crispy, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
Prepare the Toppings
- 3
While the tater barrels or fries are baking, prepare the toppings. Cook the bacon until crispy, then crumble it into small pieces.
- 4
Shred the cheddar jack cheese if not pre-shredded. Chop the chives into small pieces and slice the black olives.
Assemble the Loaded Tater Barrels or Fries
- 5
Once the tater barrels or fries are fully cooked, remove them from the oven and immediately sprinkle the shredded cheddar jack cheese over the top.
- 6
Add the crumbled bacon, chopped chives, and sliced black olives on top of the cheese-covered tater barrels or fries.
- 7
Return to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serve
- 8
Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving. Serve with a side of sour cream for dipping.
