Main Ingredients

Au Jus

Optional Garnish

Method

Preparing the Steak

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

Sprinkle the ribeye steak with salt and black pepper on both sides.

  2. 2

    Cook the Steak

In a skillet over medium-high heat, sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes on each side until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly.

Making the Au Jus

  1. 3

    Sauté the Aromatics

In the same skillet, add a little oil if needed, and sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until they are soft and translucent, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Pour in the beef broth, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and bring it to a simmer. Allow it to cook for about 10 minutes, letting the flavors meld. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Assembling the French Dip

  1. 5

    Prepare the Rolls

Slice the French rolls in half and lightly toast them if desired.

  2. 6

    Assemble the Sandwich

Layer the sliced steak onto the bottom half of the rolls, then top with the other half. Serve the sandwiches with a side of the warm au jus for dipping.

  3. 7

    Garnish (Optional)

Sprinkle fresh parsley over the sandwiches for a touch of color and flavor if desired.
