Method

Chicken Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Chicken

In a bowl, season the chicken tenders with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss until evenly coated.

  2. 2

    Cook the Chicken

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the seasoned chicken tenders and cook for about 6-7 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Bacon Preparation

  1. 3

    Cook the Bacon

In the same skillet, add the bacon strips and cook until crispy, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess grease.

Toast Preparation

  1. 4

    Prepare the Toast

Spread butter on one side of each slice of Texas toast. Place the slices butter-side down in the skillet over medium heat. Toast until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

  2. 5

    Assemble the Melt

On two slices of the toasted Texas bread, layer the cooked chicken tenders, bacon, and then top with Swiss cheese. Place the other two slices of toast on top to create a sandwich.

Final Cooking

  1. 6

    Melt the Cheese

Reduce heat to low, cover the skillet, and cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and gooey.

  2. 7

    Serve

Remove the melts from the skillet, slice in half if desired, and serve with ranch dressing or BBQ sauce on the side.
