Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Mix Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is smooth and well blended.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Combine Ingredients

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; a few lumps are okay.

  2. 4

    Preheat the Griddle

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can lightly grease it with butter or oil.

  3. 5

    Cook the Pancakes

Using a ladle, pour about 1/4 cup of the pancake batter onto the hot skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip the pancakes and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, until golden brown.

  4. 6

    Serve

Remove the pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Serve with butter and maple syrup on top.
