Beef Patty Preparation
- 1
Form the Patty
In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Form the mixture into one 1/2 lb patty, ensuring it is slightly larger than the burger bun, as it will shrink during cooking.
- 2
Cook the Patty
Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the beef patty on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip the patty and place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the patty reaches your desired doneness.
