Method

Burger Patty Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Patty Mixture

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Avoid overmixing.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Cooking the Burger

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Skillet

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side, then flip and top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese. Cook for an additional 4 minutes for medium doneness.

Burger Assembly

  1. 5

    Assemble the Burger

On the bottom half of each burger bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheese, tomato slices, pickles, and your choice of ketchup and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

Fries Preparation

  1. 6

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut each potato into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 7

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  3. 8

    Fry the Potatoes

Carefully add the cut potatoes to the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels. Sprinkle with salt to taste.
