Method
Preparing the Salad Base
- 1
Wash and Prepare Lettuce
Rinse the Romaine lettuce under cold water to remove any dirt. Shake off excess water and chop the lettuce into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large salad bowl.
Making Croutons
- 2
Prepare the Croutons
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut the bread into small cubes (about 1 inch). In a mixing bowl, toss the bread cubes with olive oil, garlic powder, and salt until evenly coated.
- 3
Bake the Croutons
Spread the coated bread cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake for about 10-15 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, tossing halfway through for even browning. Remove from the oven and let cool.
Making Caesar Dressing
- 4
Mix the Dressing
In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, grated Parmesan cheese, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, minced garlic, and black pepper. Whisk until smooth and well blended.
Assembling the Salad
- 5
Combine Ingredients
Add the prepared croutons to the bowl with the chopped Romaine lettuce. Drizzle the Caesar dressing over the salad.
- 6
Toss and Serve
Gently toss all ingredients together until the lettuce and croutons are evenly coated with dressing. Serve immediately, garnished with additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
