Churro Ingredients

Method

Churro Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Once boiling, remove from heat and stir in flour until the mixture forms a ball. Allow to cool slightly.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs

Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until the dough is smooth and glossy.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe the Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe strips of dough directly into the hot oil, cutting with scissors to desired length.

  5. 5

    Fry the Churros

Fry churros until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  6. 6

    Coat with Sugar and Cinnamon

Mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the hot churros in the mixture to coat evenly.

  7. 7

    Serve

Serve churros warm with chocolate sauce or dulce de leche for dipping.
