Method

Churros Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Churro Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and stir in flour until a ball forms. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Stir in eggs one at a time until smooth.

  2. 2

    Heat Oil

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 375°F (190°C).

  3. 3

    Pipe Churros

Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch lengths into the hot oil, cutting with scissors. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  4. 4

    Drain and Coat

Remove churros and drain on paper towels. Roll in a mixture of sugar and cinnamon while still warm.

Cinnamon-Caramel Sauce

  1. 5

    Make the Sauce

In a saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat until golden brown. Slowly whisk in heavy cream and continue to cook until smooth. Stir in butter, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Chocolate Sauce

  1. 6

    Prepare the Chocolate Sauce

In a saucepan, heat heavy cream until hot. Pour over chocolate chips and let sit for 2 minutes. Stir until smooth.
