Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Wonton Crisps
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut wonton wrappers into triangles and place them on a baking sheet. Brush with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt. Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove from oven and set aside.
- 2
Make the Wasabi Aioli
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, wasabi paste, and a pinch of salt. Mix well until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
- 3
Prepare the Soy Caramel
In a small saucepan, combine soy sauce and brown sugar. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the mixture thickens and becomes syrupy (about 5-7 minutes). Remove from heat and let cool.
- 4
Sear the Tuna
Season the yellowfin tuna pieces with salt and pepper. In a hot skillet, add vegetable oil and sear the tuna for about 1-2 minutes on each side for rare doneness. Adjust cooking time to your preference.
- 5
Plate the Dish
Slice the seared tuna into thin strips. Arrange the edamame on the plate, add the tuna slices, and garnish with sesame seeds. Drizzle with soy caramel and serve with wonton crisps and wasabi aioli on the side.
