Pork Sliders

Method

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

In a large pot, season the pork shoulder with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Sear the pork on all sides over medium-high heat until browned. Remove the pork from the pot and set aside.

  2. 2

    Braise the Pork

In the same pot, pour in the CABCo Root Beer and scrape the bottom of the pot to deglaze. Return the pork shoulder to the pot, cover, and let it braise on low heat for about 3 hours, or until the pork is tender and can be easily shredded.

  3. 3

    Fry the Onions

While the pork is braising, mix the flour with a pinch of salt and pepper in a bowl. Dip the sliced onions into the buttermilk, then coat them in the flour mixture. Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the onions until golden brown and crispy. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Sliders

Once the pork is done, shred it using two forks. Mix the mayonnaise with a bit of salt and pepper to taste. To assemble, place a generous amount of shredded pork on a slider bun, top it with crispy onions, and a dollop of seasoned mayo. Serve immediately.
