Mini Crab Cake

Method

Mini Crab Cake

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mixture

In a large mixing bowl, combine the crab meat, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and egg. Mix gently to avoid breaking up the crab meat too much.

  2. 2

Add Bread Crumbs and Green Onions

Add the bread crumbs and chopped green onions to the crab mixture. Stir until just combined. The mixture should hold together when formed into a patty; if too wet, add more bread crumbs.

  3. 3

    Form the Crab Cakes

Using your hands, form the mixture into small patties, about 2 inches in diameter. You should be able to make approximately 8 mini crab cakes.

  4. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Make sure the oil is hot but not smoking before adding the crab cakes.

  5. 5

    Cook the Crab Cakes

Carefully place the crab cakes in the skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the skillet; you might need to do this in batches.

  6. 6

    Drain and Serve

Once cooked, transfer the crab cakes to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
