Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Once the water is boiling, add the spaghetti. Cook according to package instructions, usually about 8-10 minutes, until al dente.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside.

Making Mushroom Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and chopped onion. Sauté for about 2-3 minutes until the onion is translucent.

  2. 5

    Cook Mushrooms

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are soft and browned.

  3. 6

    Add Broth and Cream

Pour in the vegetable broth and heavy cream. Stir well to combine and let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

  4. 7

    Season Sauce

Add salt and black pepper to taste. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and incorporated.

  5. 8

    Finish with Parsley

Remove from heat and stir in the chopped fresh parsley for a burst of freshness.

Combining and Serving

  1. 9

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained spaghetti to the mushroom sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 10

    Serve

Plate the spaghetti with mushroom sauce. Optionally, sprinkle extra Parmesan cheese and parsley on top before serving.
