Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Slice the Ingredients

Thinly slice the ribeye steak against the grain into strips. Chop the onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms into bite-sized pieces.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Cook the Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and mushrooms. Season with salt and pepper. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are softened and slightly caramelized. Remove the vegetables from the skillet and set aside.

  2. 3

    Cook the Steak

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil. Increase the heat to medium-high and add the sliced ribeye steak. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently, until the steak is browned and cooked to your desired doneness.

  3. 4

    Combine Ingredients

Return the sautéed vegetables to the skillet with the cooked steak. Mix everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.

  4. 5

    Melt the Cheese

Lay the slices of provolone cheese over the steak and vegetable mixture in the skillet. Cover the skillet with a lid and let it cook for about 2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Prepare the Hoagie Rolls

While the cheese is melting, slice the hoagie rolls lengthwise without cutting all the way through. Lightly toast the rolls if desired.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Cheese Steaks

Spoon the cheesy steak and vegetable mixture into the toasted hoagie rolls. Serve hot with your favorite condiments.
