In a bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.

Combine Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil, and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the Dough
Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Prepare Garlic Butter
In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and oregano, and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

Shape the Sticks
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Cut into rhombus shapes or sticks.

Place the sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush with garlic butter and sprinkle with Romano cheese and black pepper. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
