Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Roast Beef

Season the prime roast beef with salt and black pepper. Roast it in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until it reaches your desired doneness. Allow it to rest before slicing it thinly.

  2. 2

    Caramelize the Onions

In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt. Cook slowly, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden brown and caramelized, about 15-20 minutes.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Baguette

Slice the baguette in half lengthwise. Spread minced garlic on the inside, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese, and top with sliced Swiss cheese. Toast the baguette in the oven at 400°F (200°C) until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. 4

    Assemble the French Dip

Layer the sliced roast beef on the toasted baguette, add caramelized onions, and drizzle with creamy horseradish sauce. Top with additional Swiss cheese if desired.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Au Jus

In a saucepan, heat the beef broth over medium heat. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the French Dip sandwiches with a side of hot au jus for dipping.
