Method

Preparation of Ingredients

  1. 1

    Prepare Espresso

Brew 1 cup of espresso coffee and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  2. 2

    Mix Coffee Liqueur

In a shallow dish, combine the cooled espresso with 1 tablespoon of coffee liqueur to soak the ladyfingers.

Mascarpone Mixture

  1. 3

    Whip Heavy Cream

In a mixing bowl, whip 1 cup of heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

  2. 4

    Combine Mascarpone and Sugar

In another bowl, mix 1 cup of mascarpone cheese, 1 tablespoon of granulated sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 5

    Fold Mixtures Together

Gently fold the whipped heavy cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Assembling the Tiramisu

  1. 6

    Soak Ladyfingers

Quickly dip each ladyfinger into the espresso mixture, making sure not to soak them for too long, and layer them in a rectangular dish.

  2. 7

    Layer Mascarpone Mixture

Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the layer of soaked ladyfingers.

  3. 8

    Repeat Layers

Repeat the process with another layer of dipped ladyfingers followed by the remaining mascarpone mixture on top.

Chilling and Serving

  1. 9

    Chill the Tiramisu

Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to set.

  2. 10

    Serve Tiramisu

Before serving, dust the top with unsweetened cocoa powder and garnish with dark chocolate shavings.
