Mojito Ingredients

Method

Mojito Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Mint

In a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker, add 10 fresh mint leaves. Gently muddle the mint leaves using a muddler or the back of a spoon to release their oils and aroma.

  2. 2

    Add Lime and Sugar

Cut the lime into wedges. Squeeze the juice from the lime wedges into the glass with the muddled mint. After squeezing, drop the wedges into the glass as well. Add 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar to the mixture.

  3. 3

    Mix the Ingredients

Using a muddler or spoon, gently stir the mint, lime, and sugar together until the sugar dissolves. Be careful not to over-muddle the mint, as you want to keep the leaves intact.

  4. 4

    Add Rum

Pour in 2 ounces of white rum into the glass with the muddled mint and lime mixture. Stir gently to combine the flavors.

  5. 5

    Add Ice

Fill the glass with ice cubes, about 1 cup, to chill the drink.

  6. 6

    Top with Club Soda

Pour 4 ounces of club soda over the ice and mint mixture. Stir gently to combine all ingredients without losing the fizz.

  7. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Garnish your Mojito with additional mint leaves and a lime wedge if desired. Serve immediately with a straw.
