Preparation
- 1
Trim the Green Beans
Rinse the fresh green beans under cold water and trim off the ends. Set aside.
Cooking
- 2
Sauté the Almonds
In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced almonds and sauté for about 3-4 minutes or until they are golden brown, stirring frequently to prevent burning. Once done, remove the almonds from the skillet and set aside.
- 3
Cook the Green Beans
In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Once the butter has melted, add the trimmed green beans. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp.
- 4
Season the Dish
Add the sautéed almonds back into the skillet with the green beans. Pour in the lemon juice, and season with salt and black pepper. Toss everything together and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes to heat through.
Serving
- 5
Plate and Serve
Transfer the green bean almondine to a serving dish and serve warm as a side dish.
