Pasta Preparation
- 1
Cook the Fettuccine
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Chicken Preparation
- 2
Cook the Chicken
Season the boneless, skinless chicken breasts with salt and black pepper. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side or until cooked through and golden brown. Remove from skillet, let rest for a few minutes, then slice into strips.
Alfredo Sauce Preparation
- 3
Make the Sauce
In the same skillet used for the chicken, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add the butter and let it melt. Stir in the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. Season with nutmeg, salt, and black pepper.
Combine and Serve
- 4
Combine Pasta and Sauce
Add the cooked fettuccine to the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly. If needed, add a splash of pasta water to loosen the sauce.
- 5
Serve the Dish
Place the pasta on serving plates, top with sliced chicken, and garnish with chopped parsley. Serve immediately.
