Main Ingredients

Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Preparing the Chicken

  1. 2

    Season the Chicken

While the pasta is cooking, season the chicken breast on both sides with Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 3

    Cook the Chicken

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the seasoned chicken breast and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest before slicing.

Making the Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté the Vegetables

In the same skillet used for the chicken, add the diced onion, bell pepper, and minced garlic. Sauté over medium heat for about 3-5 minutes until the vegetables are softened.

  2. 5

    Add Cream and Cheese

Reduce the heat to low, then add the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese to the skillet. Stir to combine and simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce is slightly thickened.

Combining Everything

  1. 6

    Mix Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked penne pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Slice the cooked chicken and place it on top of the pasta. Toss everything together to ensure the pasta is well coated in the sauce.

  2. 7

    Garnish and Serve

Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve hot.
