Method
Baguette Preparation
- 1
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the gluten-free flour, xanthan gum, salt, and instant yeast. Whisk together until well mixed.
- 2
- 3
Combine Mixtures
Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture, stirring continuously until a sticky dough forms.
- 4
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface (using gluten-free flour). Knead gently for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- 5
First Rise
Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a damp cloth and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 6
Shape the Baguette
Once risen, punch down the dough gently. Divide into two equal portions and shape each into a baguette form. Place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- 7
Second Rise
Cover the shaped baguettes with a damp cloth and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- 8
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- 9
Bake the Baguettes
Once the baguettes have risen, bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and hollow sounding when tapped.
- 10
Cool and Serve
Remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing. Enjoy your gluten-free baguette!
