Pasta and Sauce

Method

Cooking the Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil the Pasta

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the penne pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

Making the Sauce

  1. 2

    Sauté the Prosciutto

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped prosciutto and cook until it is crispy, about 3-4 minutes.

  2. 3

    Add Garlic and Spices

Stir in the minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. Cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Tomato Puree

Add the tomato puree to the skillet, stirring well to combine. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.

  4. 5

    Add Vodka

Pour in the vodka, stirring continuously. Allow it to simmer for another 2-3 minutes to let the alcohol cook off.

  5. 6

    Stir in Heavy Cream

Reduce the heat to low and add the heavy cream. Stir until the sauce is well combined and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  6. 7

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked penne pasta to the sauce. Toss well to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little pasta water to thin it out.

  7. 8

    Finish with Parmesan

Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the pasta and mix until melted and combined.

Serving

  1. 9

    Plate and Garnish

Serve the Penne Alla Vodka in bowls, garnished with fresh basil leaves. Enjoy your delicious meal!
