Method

Dough Preparation

  1. 1

    Activate Yeast

In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until frothy.

  2. 2

    Mix Dough

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Add the activated yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. 3

    Knead Dough

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. 4

    Let Dough Rise

Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Shape and Bake

  1. 5

    Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. 6

    Shape Knots

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into small pieces (about 1.5 oz each). Roll each piece into a rope and tie it into a knot.

  3. 7

    Place on Baking Sheet

Arrange the knots on a greased baking sheet, leaving space between each knot. Cover and let them rise for another 20 minutes.

  4. 8

    Bake

Bake the knots in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.

Garlic Butter Preparation

  1. 9

    Prepare Garlic Butter

In a saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and salt, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Remove from heat and stir in chopped parsley.

  2. 10

    Toss Knots

Once the knots are baked, remove them from the oven and immediately toss them in the garlic butter mixture until well coated.
