Method

For the Salmon Burger

  1. 1

    Prepare the Salmon Mixture

In a large bowl, combine the ground salmon, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped green onion, lemon juice, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the salmon mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a patty, about 1 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Preheat the Grill

Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

  4. 4

    Grill the Patties

Place the salmon patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.

  5. 5

    Assemble the Burgers

Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for about 1 minute. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a salmon patty, sliced tomato, red onion, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.

For the Homemade Tartar Sauce

  1. 6

    Mix Ingredients

In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, finely chopped pickles, chopped capers, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.

  2. 7

    Chill

Refrigerate the tartar sauce for at least 15 minutes before serving to allow flavors to meld.
