Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Form the Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently with your hands until just combined. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a burger patty, about 1 inch thick.

  2. 2

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Place the burger patties on the grill or skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach the desired doneness (internal temperature of 160°F for medium).

Add Toppings

  1. 3

    Melt the Cheese

During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar, Swiss, and American cheese on each burger patty. Cover the grill or skillet with a lid to help melt the cheese.

  2. 4

    Cook the Bacon

In a separate skillet, cook the bacon slices over medium heat until crispy. Remove from the skillet and place on paper towels to drain excess fat.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 5

    Prepare the Buns

Toast the burger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  2. 6

    Build the Burger

Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each toasted burger bun. Place a lettuce leaf on top, followed by a slice of tomato. Add the cooked burger patty with melted cheese, then top with two slices of bacon. Close the burger with the top half of the bun.
