Burger Patty

Toppings

Burger Buns

Method

Prepare the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Mix the Ingredients

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix gently until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patties

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape each portion into a patty that is about ¾ inch thick. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up while cooking.

Cook the Burger Patties

  1. 3

    Preheat the Grill or Pan

Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat.

  2. 4

    Cook the Patties

Once hot, place the patties on the grill or skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of doneness (internal temperature of 160°F for medium).

Prepare the Toppings

  1. 5

    Slice the Vegetables

While the patties are cooking, slice the tomato and onion into thin rings. Rinse the lettuce leaves and pat them dry. Prepare the pickles by having them ready on a plate.

Assemble the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Buns

If desired, lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster.

  2. 7

    Layer the Ingredients

Start with the bottom bun, add a lettuce leaf, place the cooked patty on top, followed by onion rings, slices of tomato, and pickle slices. Finish with the top bun.
