Bone-In Pork Chop

Method

Bone-In Pork Chop

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork Chops

Pat the bone-in pork chops dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This helps in achieving a nice sear.

  2. 2

    Season the Chops

Rub the olive oil evenly over the pork chops. Then, sprinkle garlic powder, salt, black pepper, and fresh rosemary on both sides, ensuring they are well coated.

  3. 3

    Heat the Pan

In a large skillet, heat over medium-high heat. Allow it to become hot enough that a drop of water sizzles on contact.

  4. 4

    Sear the Pork Chops

Place the pork chops in the hot skillet, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sear for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they have a nice golden brown crust.

  5. 5

    Cook Through

Reduce heat to medium-low, cover the skillet, and continue cooking for an additional 10-12 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).

  6. 6

    Rest the Chops

Remove the pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. This helps the juices redistribute.
