Fried Chicken, Waffles, and Glaze
Method
Cooking Instructions
Marinate the Chicken
In a bowl, combine chicken thighs and buttermilk. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
Prepare the Fried Chicken Coating
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Fry the Chicken
Heat oil in a deep skillet or fryer to 350°F (175°C). Remove chicken from buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge in the flour mixture, coating well. Fry in hot oil for about 6-8 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.
Make the Waffles
In a bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until just combined. Preheat a waffle iron and cook waffles according to manufacturer's instructions.
Prepare the Honey Sriracha Glaze
In a small bowl, mix honey and sriracha until well combined.
