Pie Filling

Method

Preparation of the Filling

  1. 1

    Prepare the Berries

Wash and slice the strawberries into halves. Combine them with blueberries and raspberries in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Filling Ingredients

Add granulated sugar, cornstarch, lemon juice, and vanilla extract to the berries. Gently toss until the fruit is evenly coated. Set aside to let the juices blend.

Preparation of the Crust

  1. 3

    Prepare the Pie Crust

If using a pre-made pie crust, place it in a 9-inch pie dish. If making homemade, roll out the dough and fit it into the pie dish, trimming any excess.

Preparation of the Crumble Topping

  1. 4

    Mix the Crumble ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine rolled oats, brown sugar, all-purpose flour, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Pour in the melted butter and mix until crumbly.

Assembly and Baking

  1. 5

    Assemble the Pie

Pour the berry mixture into the prepared pie crust, spreading it evenly. Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the berries.

  2. 6

    Bake the Pie

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the pie for 45-50 minutes, or until the filling is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.

  3. 7

    Cool and Serve

Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing. Serve warm or at room temperature.
