Mix Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

Form Meatballs
With your hands, form the mixture into small meatballs, about 2.5 cm in diameter. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Chill Meatballs
Cover the meatballs with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to help them hold their shape during cooking.

Add Tomatoes and Seasonings
Stir in the canned crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, black pepper, and sugar. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Simmer Sauce
Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Cooking Meatballs

Cook Meatballs
While the sauce is simmering, heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches and cook until browned on all sides, about 6-8 minutes.

Once cooked, add the browned meatballs to the marinara sauce and let them simmer together for an additional 10 minutes to absorb the flavors.
