Method
Marinating the Chicken
- 1
Prepare the Marinade
In a bowl, combine buttermilk, hot sauce, salt, and black pepper. Whisk until well mixed.
- 2
Marinate the Chicken
Cut the chicken breast into strips and add them to the marinade. Ensure all pieces are well covered. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
Preparing the Breading
- 3
Mix the Breading Ingredients
In a separate bowl, combine all-purpose flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until uniform.
Frying the Chicken
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep frying pan, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 175°C (350°F).
- 5
Bread the Chicken
Remove chicken strips from the marinade, allowing excess to drip off. Dredge each strip in the breading mixture, coating evenly. Shake off excess flour.
- 6
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the breaded chicken strips into the hot oil in batches. Fry for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 75°C (165°F).
- 7
Drain and Serve
Remove chicken tenders from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
