Main Ingredients

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

Drain and rinse the canned chickpeas under cold water to remove excess sodium and preservatives.

  2. 2

Peel the garlic cloves and set them aside.

  3. 3

Measure out the tahini, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.

Blending

  1. 4

    Combine Ingredients

In a food processor, add the rinsed chickpeas, tahini, garlic cloves, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water.

  2. 5

    Blend Until Smooth

Pulse the food processor until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Stop to scrape down the sides as needed. If the hummus is too thick, add additional water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach the desired consistency.

Serving

  1. 6

    Transfer and Garnish

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl. Drizzle with a little olive oil and sprinkle paprika and chopped fresh parsley on top for garnish.

  2. 7

    Serve with Pita

Cut the pita bread into triangles and serve alongside the hummus for dipping.
