Method
Pizza Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Dough
In a small bowl, dissolve the yeast in warm water and let it sit until frothy, about 5 minutes.
- 2
Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, and olive oil. Add the frothy yeast mixture and beer, and mix until a dough forms.
- 3
Knead the Dough
Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- 4
Let the Dough Rise
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- 5
Preheat the Oven
Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat up.
- 6
Shape the Pizza
Once risen, punch down the dough and roll it out to a 6-inch circle. Transfer to a piece of parchment paper.
- 7
Add Sauce and Cheese
Spread the house-made red sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small border. Sprinkle the shredded Wisconsin mozzarella cheese on top.
- 8
Bake the Pizza
Carefully slide the pizza (with parchment) onto the hot stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- 9
Cool and Serve
Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing. Enjoy your personal beer crust pizza!
