1. Cook the Macaroni

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add 2 cups of elbow macaroni and cook according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.

2. Make the Cheese Sauce

In the same pot, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat. Once melted, add 1 cup of milk and stir. Gradually add 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese, stirring continuously until the cheese is fully melted and the sauce is smooth.

3. Combine and Serve

Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce. Stir to combine and coat the macaroni evenly. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve warm.
