For the Beer Battered Shrimp
Method
Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
Peel and devein the shrimp. Pat them dry with paper towels and set aside.
- 2
Make the Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cornstarch, baking powder, salt, and black pepper. Gradually add the beer, mixing until the batter is smooth and thick.
- 3
Heat the Oil
In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Batter the Shrimp
Dip each shrimp into the batter, allowing any excess to drip off.
- 5
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully place the battered shrimp into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the shrimp from the oil and drain on paper towels. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
