Burger Ingredients

Method

Burger Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Burger Patty

In a mixing bowl, combine the Black Angus ground beef, salt, and black pepper. Gently mix until combined, being careful not to overwork the meat. Divide the mixture into a 6 oz. patty.

  2. 2

    Grill or Smash the Patty

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. If grilling, place the patty on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. If smashing, place the patty in a hot skillet and press down with a spatula to create a sear. Cook for about 3-4 minutes and flip to cook the other side.

  3. 3

    Toast the Bun

While the burger is cooking, lightly toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

  4. 4

    Assemble the Burger

Once the burger patty is cooked to your liking, place it on the bottom half of the toasted bun. Top with cheese (if using), lettuce, tomato slices, onion slices (if using), ketchup, and mustard. Place the top half of the bun on top.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the burger immediately with your choice of regular side, such as fries or a salad.
