Fried Tofu Ingredients

Method

Fried Tofu Directions

1

Prepare the Tofu

Drain the tofu and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. Place a heavy object on top to press out excess moisture for about 15 minutes.

2

Cut the Tofu

Once pressed, cut the tofu into bite-sized cubes or slices according to your preference.

3

Coat with Cornstarch

In a bowl, toss the tofu pieces with cornstarch until they are evenly coated.

4

Heat the Oil

In a large skillet or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.

5

Fry the Tofu

Carefully add the coated tofu to the hot oil in a single layer. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.

6

Season the Tofu

Once fried, remove the tofu from the skillet and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder while still hot.

7

Serve

Drizzle with soy sauce and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
