Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Make the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the ground pork, chopped cabbage, green onions, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Gyoza Wrappers

Take gyoza wrappers and place a small spoonful of the filling in the center of each wrapper. Be careful not to overfill.

  3. 3

    Seal the Gyoza

Wet the edges of the wrapper with a little water, then fold the wrapper in half and pinch the edges together to seal. You can create pleats for a traditional look.

  4. 4

    Cook the Gyoza

In a large skillet, heat a tablespoon of oil over medium heat. Place the gyoza in the skillet and cook until the bottoms are golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

  5. 5

    Steam the Gyoza

Carefully add 1/4 cup of water to the skillet and cover immediately. Allow the gyoza to steam for about 5-6 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through.

  6. 6

    Serve

Remove the gyoza from the skillet and serve hot with soy sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.
