Fried Pickles Ingredients

Method

Fried Pickles Directions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pickles

Drain the dill pickle spears and pat them dry with paper towels.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Breading

In a bowl, mix together the flour, cornmeal, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

  3. 3

    Dipping Station

In a separate bowl, pour the buttermilk. Set up a dipping station with the buttermilk on one side and the seasoned flour mixture on the other.

  4. 4

    Coat the Pickles

Dip each pickle spear into the buttermilk, allowing excess to drip off, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing gently to adhere.

  5. 5

    Heat the Oil

In a deep skillet or pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  6. 6

    Fry the Pickles

Carefully place the coated pickle spears into the hot oil, frying in batches to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 3-4 minutes or until golden brown.

  7. 7

    Drain and Serve

Remove the fried pickles with a slotted spoon and drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Serve hot with ranch and honey dill sauce.
