Ice Cream Base

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare Ice Cream Base

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, brown sugar, granulated sugar, butterscotch sauce, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until fully combined and the sugars are dissolved.

  2. 2

    Chill the Mixture

Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight to chill the mixture thoroughly.

  3. 3

    Churn the Ice Cream

Once chilled, pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.

  4. 4

    Add Pecans

During the last few minutes of churning, add the whole pecans to the ice cream. If you prefer a crunchier texture, you can also lightly toast the pecans before adding.

  5. 5

    Freeze the Ice Cream

Transfer the ice cream to an airtight container and freeze for at least 4 hours or until firm.
