Ice Cream Base
Method
Ice Cream Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ice Cream Base
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, Baileys Irish Cream, instant coffee granules, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
- 2
Chill the Mixture
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for at least 2 hours or until it is thoroughly chilled.
- 3
Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the chilled mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions, typically about 20-25 minutes.
- 4
Add Fudge Swirl
While the ice cream is churning, prepare the fudge swirl. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the semi-sweet chocolate chips and heavy cream. Stir until melted and smooth, then remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- 5
Swirl in Fudge
Once the ice cream has churned, transfer it to a freezer-safe container. Drizzle half of the fudge sauce over the ice cream and use a knife or spatula to gently swirl it in. Repeat with the remaining fudge sauce.
- 6
Freeze
Cover the container with a lid or plastic wrap and freeze the ice cream for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
