Hand-Cut Fries Ingredients

Method

Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the Russet potatoes. Cut them into thick strips (about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick) to make hand-cut fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Place the cut fries in a bowl of cold water and let them soak for at least 30 minutes. This helps to remove excess starch and makes the fries crispier.

  3. 3

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer for accuracy.

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Remove the fries from the water and pat them dry with paper towels. Carefully add a batch of fries to the hot oil (do not overcrowd). Fry for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.

  5. 5

    Drain and Season

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fries from the oil and drain them on paper towels. While still hot, season with sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and paprika to taste.

  6. 6

    Serve

Serve the hand-cut fries immediately while hot and crispy. Enjoy!
