Pasta

Method

Cook Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt once boiling.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Add 8 cups of spaghetti to the boiling water and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti in a colander and set aside, reserving a cup of pasta water.

Prepare Shrimp and Sauce

  1. 4

    Sauté Shrimp

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter over medium heat until the butter is melted.

  2. 5

    Add Garlic

Add 4 teaspoons of minced garlic and 1 teaspoon of red pepper flakes to the skillet, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.

  3. 6

    Cook Shrimp

Add 1 pound of large shrimp to the skillet. Season with 0.5 teaspoons of salt and 0.25 teaspoons of black pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the shrimp are pink and opaque.

  4. 7

    Add Lemon and Parsley

Stir in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of chopped fresh parsley, cooking for an additional minute.

Combine and Serve

  1. 8

    Mix Pasta and Shrimp

Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to loosen the sauce.

  2. 9

    Serve

Serve hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
