Method

Bread Pudding

  1. 1

    Prepare the Bread

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Cut the day-old bread into cubes and place them in a large mixing bowl.

  2. 2

    Mix the Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, whisk together the whole milk, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.

  3. 3

    Combine and Add Raisins

Pour the wet mixture over the bread cubes and gently fold until the bread is fully soaked. Add the raisins and mix again.

  4. 4

    Bake the Bread Pudding

Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until set and golden brown on top.

Whiskey Sauce

  1. 5

    Melt the Butter

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter.

  2. 6

    Add Brown Sugar and Cream

Once melted, stir in the brown sugar and heavy cream. Bring to a gentle simmer, stirring continuously until the sugar is dissolved.

  3. 7

    Incorporate Whiskey and Vanilla

Remove from heat and carefully add the whiskey and vanilla extract, stirring until fully combined.

  4. 8

    Serve Warm

Serve the warm whiskey sauce over the baked bread pudding.
