Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Eggs

In a pot, bring water to a boil. Gently add the eggs and boil for 6-7 minutes for soft-boiled. Remove the eggs and place them in ice water to cool. Once cooled, peel the eggs.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Sausage Mixture

In a bowl, combine the sausage meat, salt, black pepper, and paprika (if using). Mix well until combined.

  3. 3

    Wrap the Eggs

Divide the sausage mixture into 4 equal portions. Flatten each portion into a disc and wrap it around the peeled soft-boiled egg, ensuring the egg is completely covered.

  4. 4

    Prepare for Frying

Set up a breading station with one bowl of flour, one bowl of beaten eggs (from 2 additional eggs), and one bowl of breadcrumbs.

  5. 5

    Bread the Scotch Eggs

Roll each sausage-wrapped egg in the flour, then dip it in the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in breadcrumbs. Ensure they are well-coated.

  6. 6

    Fry the Eggs

In a deep pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the Scotch eggs and fry until golden brown, about 4-5 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  7. 7

    Serve

Cut the Scotch eggs in half and serve warm. Enjoy!
